Retrovie Mid-Century Modern 6-Drawer Dresser

The Retrovie Mid-Century Modern 39” is a perfect addition to my office! It looks great and is exactly what I was looking for.

Make sure you give yourself enough time to put this together. I also recommend watching the assembly videos Mopio has because the instructions were a bit contradictory, but the visuals really helped.

I do wish the entire thing was solid wood, but it’s great for the price point. The drawers feel slightly off because they catch a bit when you pull on them. Overall very happy though!

I am an old hand at assembling furniture but this 6 drawer dresser took a full day to assemble and at the end the plastic pieces that hold the drawers in place are so flimsy that I'm left with a dresser missing two drawers. Not what I expected at this price point.

Drawer depth is advertised as 13.1”

It is actually a whole two inches shorter at ~11.1”

put together the 99 inch entertainment setup and it completely fills out that empty wall in our apartment. perfect home for the tv, and i had way too much fun styling the shelves with our decor. incredible value for how put-together it looks

Finally got proper storage under our bed with this queen frame, which has been huge for a small bedroom. The drawers slide out smooth and dont feel cheap at all. Genuinely one of the better furniture investments weve made this year

Took about 2.5 hours to build but instructions were clear and the piece feels pretty sturdy. Happy with my purchase!

Beautiful Mid-Century Modern Look, but Poor Quality and Frustrating Customer Service

Pros:

Beautiful mid-century modern aesthetic.

The company did ultimately provide a requested refund/discount to make things right.

Cons:

Cheap materials that are highly prone to damage (worse than IKEA).

Paper-thin "veneer" that peels easily.

Confusing instructions.

Customer service relies heavily on unhelpful, canned responses.

From day one, I experienced issues with the instructions, the build quality, and Mopio's customer service. While the furniture is aesthetically beautiful—I absolutely love the mid-century modern design—do not be fooled. These products are overpriced for their incredibly cheap build quality.

The materials are a major letdown. The "veneer" is not real wood; it's an extremely thin, low-quality paper that was already peeling off my hutch before I even finished putting it together. Furthermore, the particle board is incredibly soft. No matter how careful I was during assembly, nicks and gouges were inevitable. Honestly, the overall quality is a step down from standard IKEA furniture. If you have kids or pets, expect this furniture to get destroyed easily. If you do decide to buy it, make sure you have wood markers, wood glue, and a hot glue gun on hand for constant maintenance.

When assembling the dresser, I hit a roadblock right on the first page regarding the main structural pieces. I submitted a support ticket with detailed photos and measurements. Unfortunately, their customer service was incredibly frustrating to deal with. I consistently received robotic, canned emails (just variations of "I understand") that made it abundantly clear no one was actually reading my detailed reports.

When they finally sent a replacement part to fix the issue—which took over a week to arrive—they sent the exact same incorrect part I already had. It took about 3.5 weeks and four separate emails for them to simply advise me to swap two of the boards. Had they actually reviewed my initial photos, this could have been resolved on day one.

The one saving grace is that Mopio did eventually provide the refund and discount I requested given the massive hassle. I don’t blame any individual representative, but their customer support system desperately needs an overhaul. Buy this for the look, but don't expect it to last.

Not the highest quality for the price, and it took two shipments to get one intact enough to use (damage appeared to be prior to shipment, not from the shipment itself). Even the second shipment contained some damage to the headboard. Customer service resolved the issue as best as possible, so no complaints on that end.

Really happy with the quality for the price. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because the 'wood' is darker than the pictures. 5 stars for packaging and directions and ease of assembly. Easy and clear directions: it took longer than the 2 hours suggested but I am methodical and went slowing so as not to make a mistake. Very pleased overall!

It appears to be on the same level as Ikea.
I fact the first piece to assemble was missing to drill holes for the dowels. Fortunately I had the tools to make the holes and assemble the unit. Would not purchase anything from this company.

Lovely piece of furniture with clear assembly instructions. I'm not deducting points for this, but it does weigh a LOT more than I expected and was difficult to get up the stairs.

there was a slight chip on one corner of the bookcase, probably happened during delivery, but its barely noticeable once its against the wall. still really happy with how it looks holding all our books and plants

The color is much darker than the image. Be aware. It’s more of a mid tone vs a light/blonde tone.

Went with the 67 inch stand since we needed something with real storage for cables and games, the mix of drawers and sliding doors works great. Put it together by myself in about 45 minutes, no help needed. Looks so much more expensive than what we actually paid
